Conservative Movies

Here is a list from National Review of the top conservative movies. Included are some that I really like:

1. The Lives of Others: Loved it. about East Germany, a favorite subject matter since childhood. I like how everyone is scared and spying on each other. I'd give it an 89/100

2. The Incredibles: I really liked this Disney Movie, and Brad Bird's follow-up, Ratatouille. Ratatouille also has a more muted conservative message. I'd give it a 92/100.

3. Metropolitan: I liked this when I saw it. some class issues. don't remember it well enough to rate it. Would kind of like my life to be like this.

5. 300: very entertaining display of courage, masculinity. 85/100

11. The Lord of the Rings: I watch this in its entirety about once every two months. 97/100 for all three movies.

22. Brazil: watched this with best friend when I was in high school and a few times since. I like my movies to be about dystopias. 88/100.

Honorable mentions that I like: The Last Days of Disco, Witness (loved this, love the Amish). Peter Weir, who did Witness also made another of my favorite movies Picnic at Hanging Rock, and The Truman Show.

I just saw another great conservative movie, Taken. I'd give it an 84/100. This was exactly what I wanted in a movie. There was good and evil and no moral equivalence. The moview was about (Liam Neeson's) mission to find the people who stole his daughter and tried to sell her into 'white slavery'. The first 30 minutes were pretty terrible. But they made the rest of the movie even better. I was rapt with attention for the whole movie. AWESOME. Here's a review on Andrew Breitbart's Big Hollywood blog.
